What is Titanic Experience Cobh?

On the morning of April 11th 1912, Titanic anchored right here in Cork Harbour, it’s last port of call before heading across the Atlantic. Titanic Experience Cobh is a Visitor Centre housed in the original White Star Line Building in Cobh where we offer guided tours to retrace Titanic’s journey through the eyes of the 123 passengers who joined the ship in Cobh.

How long does the complete experience take?

Please allow 1 hour to complete your Titanic Experience as follows:

There is a 30 minute guided tour, which explores the journey on board Titanic from the time it arrived in Cobh to the tragic sinking just 3 days later.

Once you complete the guided element of the tour you will move to our exhibits area where you view exhibits on individual passengers triumphs and tragedies, information and outcomes of the official US and UK enquiries, information on the wreck site and more. The exhibits area is non-guided and guests are free to explore at their leisure. On average guests would spend 30 minutes in the exhibits area. 

How frequently do tours run?

Tours run every 15 minutes during the summer season and every 30 minutes during the winter season.

What time is the last tour of the day?

Can I book tickets online?

Yes you can book online up to midnight before the day before your visit, and pay by debit/credit card, or Paypal. We highly recommend booking online to avoid long waiting times and disappointment particularly during the busy summer season.

What happens if I missed my pre-booked tour time?

If you arrive late we will offer you a place on the next available tour. Please note there may be a considerable wait depending on tour bookings on the day.

 

If I am running late, can I change my tour time?

If you are unable to make your pre-booked tour time please phone us on (021) 4814412 as soon as possible and we will re-schedule your tour time with minimum inconvenience.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, it is a family friendly tourist attraction and appeals to all age groups. Please note we do not charge for under 4’s. 

Can I book tickets by phone?

Online bookings are preferable, however, we can assist you over the phone on (021) 4814412 if necessary.

Is the experience wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The wheel chair and pram entrance is accessed by ramp on the right hand side of the building. We have a small lift to take you to the main reception area where everything from this is on a single level and accessible for Wheelchairs and prams.

Do you have a gift/souvenir shop?

Yes, access to the gift store is behind the main reception desk. The gift shop is open to all.  

Is photography (flash photography) allowed?

Yes, but video recording is not allowed.

Do you have parking?

No, but there is on-street parking in the town (€1 per hour). There are also 2 ‘free to park all day’ car parks in the town. Follow the ‘P’ signs as you approach the town.
