Titanic Experience Cobh is a unique fully guided school tour venue located in the original White Star Line ticket office in the centre of Cobh town. Our tour is an interactive visitor experience retracing the steps of the last 123 passengers who joined Titanic on her maiden voyage from Queenstown, Ireland (now Cobh). Check out our School Packages for more information.
Our tours are fully guided for primary school groups. Tours are suitable for all age groups as our guides tailor the content and how it is delivered according to the age profile of the class.
What to Expect
Upon check-in each child & teacher will receive a boarding card. Your boarding card will have the details of one of the 123 passengers who came to the White Star Line Ticket Office on Thursday April 11th 1912.
Our tour guides will take you on a virtual journey to board the tenders and join Titanic for her maiden voyage to New York. Along the way, you will view the original pier (Heartbreak Pier), which was the last point of land contact for the Queenstown passengers. We will immerse you in life aboard Titanic and tell you a little about the conditions on board for third and first class passengers. When disaster strikes you will experience the chill of the sinking in a unique cinematographic experience.
The immersive element of our tour lasts 30 minutes after which you will be taken through to our exhibition room. In our exhibition room our guides will walk you through a collection of audio-visual screens and storyboards exploring the events that led to the tragic sinking, the role of RMS Carpathia in the rescue of the survivors, the outcome of the formal British and US enquiries into the tragedy, the discovery of the wreck and more.
The final element of our experience is the story room where you will learn the fate of your passenger and all the Queenstown passengers. We also feature a selection of interesting artefacts from Carpathia, The Odell Family Collection and some original serving pieces from the White Star Line fleet of the early 20th century.
